The Tianjin International Shipping Industry Expo 2023, themed “Shipping throughout the world, leading the future,” has officially commenced at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin). The event aims to foster the growth of the worldwide shipping industry and marine economy.
Distinguished as China’s premier comprehensive shipping industry exhibition, this three-day extravaganza has drawn the participation of over 400 enterprises and renowned global ports from 22 countries and regions. It serves as a platform to showcase the latest advancements in scientific research, equipment, software technology, and international collaboration opportunities within the shipping sector.
Spanning an impressive total booth area of 50,000 square meters, the expo encompasses seven distinct exhibition areas:
- International Shipowners Zone
- Ship and Offshore Equipment Zone
- Smart Green Ports Zone
- Port Machinery and Equipment Zone
- Shipping Life Zone
- Shipping Services Zone
- Logistics Services Zone
In addition to the exhibits, the event will host a series of forums, conferences, and investment promotion and negotiation meetings.
Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao, addressing the gathering via video link, underscored the expo’s role in fostering deeper exchanges and cooperation within the shipping industry. He stressed its significance in promoting the high-quality development of the global shipping sector and encouraging the shipping community to play an even more significant role in international trade development.
Fu Xuyin, China’s Vice Transport Minister, highlighted the growing consensus on green, low-carbon, and smart development within the global shipping industry. He emphasized the need for continued consensus-building, strengthened cooperation, and joint efforts to ensure the sustainable and healthy evolution of the global shipping sector amid new challenges and opportunities.
