Erenhot Port in Inner Mongolia Handles 2,500 China-Europe Freight Train Journeys

The Erenhot Port, located in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China, has successfully managed over 2,500 China-Europe freight train journeys in the current year, according to local railway authorities’ announcement on Tuesday.

Since its inception in 2013, the port has facilitated more than 13,000 China-Europe freight train journeys, making it a vital link in the land-based trade connection between China and Europe.

In an effort to enhance operational efficiency, the land port introduced a dedicated “green channel” for China-Europe freight trains at the beginning of this year, ensuring smoother and more expedient transit for these vital cargo routes.

Erenhot Port, being the largest land port connecting China and Mongolia, currently accommodates 69 distinct China-Europe freight train routes. These routes are primarily utilized for exporting high-value products such as new energy vehicles, machinery, and household appliances. This reinforces Erenhot Port’s pivotal role in the seamless flow of goods between these regions.
