In preparation for the upcoming sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE), a specialized China-Europe freight train, originating in Duisburg, Germany, successfully transported exhibition items to Shanghai. This unique “China-Europe freight train – CIIE edition” made the journey with exhibits valued at 16 million euros, encompassing an array of goods, including cosmetics. Customs clearance procedures have already been concluded.
The train embarked on its transcontinental journey on September 21 from Duisburg, Germany, and, as anticipated by its operator, Shanghai Oriental Silk Road Multimodal Transport Co., Ltd., the CIIE edition of the China-Europe freight train service is set to expand to include three trains. This expansion will ensure the continuous transportation of CIIE exhibition products across the vast Eurasian landscape to Shanghai. Notably, the train’s recent arrival in Shanghai marked the inaugural trip for this year.
The China-Europe freight train has quickly gained favor as a preferred mode of transportation among the approximately 3,000 companies participating in the CIIE. Scheduled to unfold in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, the eagerly awaited sixth CIIE promises to be a remarkable event.
