A forum was held in Guangzhou, China, bringing together around 200 representatives from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in China and Europe. The event, known as the China-Europe Forum on Sustainable Development of SMEs, was organized by the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) Greater China.
The economic relationship between China and Europe has grown significantly, with the trade volume reaching an impressive $847.3 billion in 2022. This highlights the strong symbiotic ties that have been established between the two regions, as stated by Jia Hongwei, an official from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Recent surveys conducted by the German Chamber of Commerce in China have revealed interesting insights. Out of approximately 300 German companies surveyed, 55 percent expressed their intention to increase investments in China over the next two years. This strategic move aims to enhance their competitiveness in the Chinese market and capitalize on its potential for growth, according to Xu Jingbo, vice president of AHK Greater China.
